What’s For Lunch?

Posted by: apple

The never ending quest to find a place to eat for lunch has always kept us rather busy. Specially when you consider our offices are located in the city of Lake Forest, the newest metropolis of the O.C.

So last week after our monday’s lunch, where we enjoyed lentil soup at the Black Forest Cafe (quite possible the only proper restaurant in Lake Forest), Mokkel and I decided to try something new and see if we could have soup for lunch for the remainder of the week. The following is what we consumed during our soup week:

campbells

Monday
Lentil Soup at Black Forest Cafe
Tuesday
French Onion and Chilli at Claim Jumper
Wednesday
Sketchy noodle soup at some random Hawaiian place
Thursday
Real noodle soup at Fukada in Irvine (A-mazing joint, but a bit far)
Friday
c00ler and Susan’s home made potato and corn soup (while watching Shake Junt)

Overall we thought our soup quest was a great success. It broke us out of the norm and we actually had something to look forward to, so we decided to do more “themed lunches”. We’ve been brainstorming on several themes. Here’s a few we came up with already (feel free to add some suggestions):

  • Salad
  • Burgers (this may include mushroom burgers)
  • Mediterranean
  • Spicy
  • Vegetarian
  • Red (food that’s colored red)

Asian food, bitch. Not from a takeaway though. Noodles, shrimps, pak choi, fried batter, shiitake mushrooms, yeah!

Why not food that is Orange (mac and cheese, corn, orange juice, carrots, ummmmmm…), or purple?

We used to do lunch that doesn’t smell like food lunches.

How about only lunch specials or 5 days of toast
