More Skateboarding and RSS

Posted by: apple

More skateboard related sites with RSS feeds (in addition to the previous Skateboarding and RSS article):

SkateDaily hasn’t updated their feed in a while and don’t seem to care about RSS when I contacted them. And I’m anticipating the arrival of the skateboard MAG and SkateNerd feeds!

WordPress patch adding depth support to get_pages()

Posted by: dude

Ran into another problem with WordPress but it was easy to fix. For some reason, wp_list_pages() lets you specify child_of and depth, to change which pages are displayed.. however, the function that will let you manually loop through these pages, get_pages(), doesn’t. Get the patch for 1.5.2: wp-1.5.2-get_pages-supports-depth.patch.

WordPress patch for separate subpages w/ same slug name

Posted by: dude

We’re trying to setup WordPress with recursive subdirectories to keep product info for a new site.. problem is, WordPress doesn’t like it when you have two pages with the same slug, even if they are subpages of different pages. So I added an extra database query and solved the problem, so now you can have
/products/shoe/black and
/products/hat/black
and they’ll work together. Yay! Here’s the patch: wp-1.5.2-subpage-same-slug.patch

If you’re on a UNIX system, you can use it like this:

mike@shoerack:~/wordpress-test$ ls
wordpress
wordpress-working
wp-1.5.2-subpage-same-slug

mike@shoerack:~/wordpress-test$ patch -p0 < wp-1.5.2-subpage-same-slug
patching file wordpress/wp-includes/classes.php
